The Coffeeshop
Oh Downtown Coffee Company, you’ve changed. You’re not you anymore. But I still love you. It seems like everything in my life has changed in the year I’ve been gone, but I still love you all.
I long for the times when my best friends worked here, who actually cared about the place, and were way more personable than the people who work here now. They cared about the music side of the shop and open mic nights were more frequent. The art has gotten better, but the atmosphere is a little too mainstream than what I like. I miss the days when Jerome would sit in here for hours on his laptop and Jimmy would play a few songs longer than anyone wanted him to. There were fewer tables and people appreciated the place. Your coffee has gotten a little better, but service has gone down. What happened to the indie college kids? I do enjoy the comfy red chairs of today, however.
Oh coffee shop, if I could take over this place, it would be awesome. I would work late and let you be open till midnight. College kids need a place to study and high school kids need a place to hang out. Be more like the coffee shops in Lincoln. But you’re not Lincoln, you’re Norfolk. “Riverpoint” needs to get a little better.
