If there was no God, how did the concept of God come into existence? How would someone have come up with such a random concept? I believe God exists.
People ask how there can be a God if there is so much misery and pain in the world. How absolutely meaningless would life seem if we just walked around doing nothing and had no problems and were just masses of happiness? Would we not all be bored? There is no way anyone could appreciate life. If we had all the solutions, we would feel no sense of accomplishment. Life without any sort of god seems meaningless.
Why is life such a competition? We all are going to live our lives differently with different goals. Who decides whose pursuits are more valuable than others’?
Are the mind and the soul the same thing? If not, how can reincarnation be real without us remembering past lives?
mind: intelligence, logic
soul: feeling, happiness
We examine each other to hold each other accountable in hopes everyone does the right thing. What is the definition of “right thing”?
Now a little on a realization I had today. Touchy subject: abortion. I believe that abortion is the killing of a baby. No, it is not fully developed, but is that tree that has a leaf that is growing through your rocks in the spring? No. But you also would still say it is living. As soon as something is conceived, it is living. I believe abortion is the killing of an organism. Now whether it is better to sacrifice that baby’s life or your own, I don’t know the answer to that. I do believe it is not the role of the government to tell women how to decide. I wouldn’t necessarily say I’m pro-choice nor pro-life. I’m really pro-morality. Women do have to live with their consequences either way. I like to think that most females learn from unplanned pregnancies and the decisions they have to make, and I hope they know to be smarter about their actions. Maybe I’m being naive. I think it is more the responsibility of the people who are important to the pregnant women and the man who impregnated them to teach morality. I think there are more important aspects to life than sex. It seems like society has made it so shallow and meaningless. I suppose to people who don’t believe in a purpose for life, it might be. Yeah. Just things to think about. I’d love to read anyone else’s opinions.

On a lighter note, here’s a summary of my first couple days of classes.
Visual Literacy has already cost me $150+. Awesome. I think I will like it though, except for it being three hours, three days a week.
Philosophy is okay. It’s a generals class for me, but it seems fairly interesting. I love college classes that aren’t so oh, repetitive of what we had in high school. I like to think and I like to learn.
Computer Science I am a tad bit afraid of. The professor said the class is going to “melt your brains.” Awesome. It seems very intense but I’m looking forward to it. I’m just going to have absolutely no social life. (Assignments could take anywhere from two to 20 hours.)
Microeconomics is looking intimidating. We are sat in alphabetical order. The prof is pretty old-school, but he’s funny in a grandpa sort of way. As long as I don’t sit anywhere near the girl who sat behind me today, who just talked about parties and being drunk and whatnot, I’ll be fine. Nothing against partying, but I don’t find it a respectable thing to brag about.
I don’t have Advertising until Thursday. I’m intimidated there, too. I also need to contract a class for honors, which I forgot about. I don’t really want to do philosophy or microecon because I don’t really care about those classes enough to go more in-depth. Advertising, Comp Sci, and Vis Lit are all going to be very time consuming though, so I don’t really want to have to do anything extra. Ugh. We’ll see how that goes.
Work is loooooong. Outputting is going to be rough, especially on Wednesday nights when I have class at 8am the next morning. And it’s a quiz section. Awesome…

I think life would be so much more awesome if people just thought more things were cool and didn’t immediately sign everything off as lame or boring or stupid.
…like class. It’s actually really interesting if you let it be. And much more fulfilling than just hanging out doing nothing. Don’t get me wrong, I love spending time with my friends, but quite often people spend time with their friends being bored, trying to think of things to do. Is that very rewarding?
