From "Man-Computer Symbiosis" by J. C. R....
“For the purposes of real-time cooperation between men and computers, it will be necessary, however, to make use of an additional and rather different principle of communication and control. The idea may be highlighted by comparing instructions ordinarily addressed to intelligent human beings with instructions ordinarily used with computers. The latter specify precisely the individual steps...

This is an awesome, inspirational website where a couple give opinions on life and health and making yourself a better person. And they have a billion lists <3.

How does one become influential? respected?
What makes something cool? Is what people enjoy something determined by factors in our lives? Is it just random personal taste? Why are some things considered good by the masses then? Are there certain qualities that make things certainly good?

If there was no God, how did the concept of God come into existence? How would someone have come up with such a random concept? I believe God exists.    People ask how there can be a God if there is so much misery and pain in the world. How absolutely meaningless would life seem if we just walked around doing nothing and had no problems and were just masses of happiness? Would we not all be...

NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS
1. Make peace with people by quitting caring what they do. It’s their lives. Everyone needs to do what makes them happy. 2. Discipline. Get shit done, yo. Take charge of what I need to do so I can succeed in school/career/life. 3. Just do it! Party it up (so to speak) and just hang out with people so I can build relationships and make friends. 4. Confidence. My thoughts are legitimate and...

Radvent-Day 8 | Comfort
Two things outside my comfort zone: 1. Go to one of my work parties. They have a party every weekend where everyone brings their work and they critique/discuss/learn how to do things, and then get schwasted. It’s bonding for them, I think. I’d really like to be a part of it. I don’t feel I am like them enough. 2.  Go to a dance class. I love dancing, but haven’t for...

Radvent-Day 7 | Traveling
One bag: my computer, phone, camera, sketchbook, jeans, sweatshirt, tshirt, tank top, shorts, socks, good shoes, pens, snacks! The place that taught me the most was New Mexico. I went there on a mission trip. You know in school you are told the whites took the Native’s land and all was well. The Natives moved to reservations and they’re poor but they’re okay? That’s such...

Radvent-Day 6 | Starting
I can’t think of anything right now that I want to do that I haven’t already started. I’m working on my website and I’m pretty stoked about it!

Radvent-Day 5 | Drawing
Oh man, I wish I would have had time for this. Radvent is definitely something one must do in the morning, rather than right before bed. I used to draw for my Creativity class, but now that that’s over, I never do. I’m so terrible, but I need to practice. I love the Keri Smith series of books on creativity and drawing. I want them all! I just need time to actually do them.

Radvent-Day 4 | Caring
What do other people care about: school, money, getting things done. What did I begin caring about: websites/coding!, staying in touch with friends. I started caring about websites and coding because I realized it is a whole section of design that is invaluable. Those skills can benefit me in so many ways! I can use my knowledge of the Internet to make my own website and get my name out and...

Radvent-Day 2 | Facinating
I wish I would have done these on the days they were put up. Now I’m all behind. I wish I had time to ponder if I am fascinating or not. I like to think I am to some people. I think my boyfriend thinks I’m fascinating at times. I love being asked what I want to do or what I am going into in college. Often I’d rather people asked me to see my latest creations than to talk...

Radvent-Day 2 | Balancing
Now I’m doing these a couple days behind, because life got busy. So I’ll do this for tomorrow. 1. Go to class. 2. Study for finals. 3. Mac & Cheese with the ladies.

Radvent-Day 1 | Challenging
I’m going to attempt, I say attempt because I’m terrible at staying on top of things like this, Princess Lasertron’s Radvent project for the second year! What is challenging me the most right now is my patience. I have the patience for no one and nothing. I want to get everything I need to get done, done now. I don’t want anyone to argue with me. Just let me do it and it...

One last one.
“An Empty sort of mind is valuable for finding pearls and tails and things because it can see what’s in front of it. An Overstuffed mind is unable to. While the Clear mind listens to a bird singing, the Stuffed-Full-Of-Knowledge-and-Cleverness mind wonders what kind of bird is singing. The more Stuffed Up it is, the less it can hear through its own ears and see through its own eyes....

“The honey doesn’t taste so good once it is being eaten; the goal doesn’t mean so much once it is reached; the reward is not so rewarding once it has been given. If we add up all the rewards in our lives, we won’t have very much. But if we add up the spaced between the rewards, we’ll come up with quite a bit. And if we add up the rewards and the spaces, then...

“Practically speaking, if timesaving devices really saved time, there would be more time available to us now than ever before in history. But, strangely enough, we seem to have less time than even a few years ago. It’s really great fun to go someplace where there are no timesaving devices because, when you do, you find that you  have lots of time. Elsewhere, you’re too busy...

– Benjamin Hoff, The Tao of Pooh
Nov 20th
Anyway, from the Miserable Puritan came the Restless Pioneer, and from him the Lonely Cowboy, always riding off into the sunset, looking for something just down the trail. From this rootless, dissatisfied ancestry has come the Bisy Backson who, like his forefathers, has never really felt at home, at peace with this Friendly Land. Rigid, combative fanatic that he is, the tightfisted Backson is just...

Openly Satanic Rapper Tyler, the Creator Advocates... →
Several Points things that are obviously wrong about this article. To preface, I do not like Tyler, the Creator, whatsoever, but I do not tell people what music they can or cannot like.  1. The Beatles and Elvis brought “evils” No, they did not. They brought music. Get over yourself, “Cool Tom Kimbo.”   2. “But Tyler, the Creator lets the devil enter him regularly...

Copied, sorry.
being born a woman is an awful tragedy… yes, my consuming desire to mingle with road crews, sailors and soldiers, bar room regulars - to be a part of a scene, anonymous, listening, recording - all is spoiled by the fact that i am a girl, a female always in danger of assault and battery. my consuming interest in men and their lives is often misconstrued as a desire to seduce them, or as an...

Horoscope that's always relevant
Do not fall into the mental trap of thinking that being at home alone is something to be sad about. Social obligations are not always everything they’re cracked up to be, and you shouldn’t accept an invitation just for the sake of being included in the crowd. Solitude is a gift to cherish — it will recharge your batteries and help you understand how much power you have over your...

This world is so corrupt.
I’m just going to go find a cabin in the mountains, read books, listen to music, watch movies, make art and other pretty things, and negatively affect no one. I may not be helping, but at least I’m not hurting. Ignorance is bliss.

Introverts
Tyler told me he figures the quietest people are usually the nicest, because they know better than to say anything. Thank God for my best guy friend who is much more intelligent and intuitive than the rest. I wish everyone had this same mindset rather than thinking quiet people are rude.

Deleting people from Facebook is awkward.
People have been deleting me from facebook like crazy these days. I’m not entirely sure what I did to make them dislike me so much, but I still wish they followed me on tumblr so they could see this post.  Deleting people is awkward. When you see them again in person, you both know the other deleted you, and you kind of just want to ask why. But I don’t. It’s so funny though...

I'm going to put it out there:
I’m quite liberal but I still don’t think abortion is right. Deal with it. To be a part of a certain party doesn’t mean you have to take on all of those opinions. That’s how we’re left with such a polarized country. Abortion is more or less excusing the fact that someone, either male or female, is irresponsible. Yeah, rape is a different case, but I still would...
